REMIC FL001 Floor Microphone

The REMIC FL001 floor microphone was developed as a custom project for the more general view of performing arts than just music: For a dance performance called “SWEET C.I. Experience” which used the sound energy captured from the dance movements as part of the sound design.

The intention with the REMIC FL001 floor microphone was to design a very roboust rubber element encapsulating a microphone. The rubber element had to be so strong, that it could be built into the floor and could endure movements and pressure from above.

For the dance performance – “SWEET C.I. Experience” – the artists used 8 microphones that were built into the floor.
