Just a quick note to say that I am loving the REMIC D5400.
I can’t honestly believe the clarity and naturalness of the tone I am getting, especially with the bow. I am playing into an Acoustic Image Ten-2 amp without any extra preamp or eq, and through a couple of good speaker cabinets. Just a little bit of low cut on the amp to clean up the sound and avoid feedback.
There is no boominess and a good amount of volume without feedback, and a super, natural, strong and clear tone.

This is a great mic and a great leap forward for the upright bass as far as I am concerned. You guys nailed it!!!

Hi, at this evenings rehersal I tried the REMIC D5400 under the bridge position, perfection!
The sound is very true to what my bass sounds like and I didn’t need to do any EQ.

Used the REMIC D5400 in conjunction with a FELiX preamp on quite a large live setup this weekend. I experienced many more nuances, that Im not use to durring miced live concerts compaired to when I play acousticly. The sound engineer said: “I like this microphone just more and more”. We did an A-B test in the Rainbow studio, between DPA4099 and REMIC D5400 – and wow – what a difference, especially with arco. Sounded like I was playing behind a huge thik curtain with the DPA in comparioson to the REMIC. – Jan Olav Renvåg, Norway

I’ve got my REMIC D5400 a weak ago – since then I’ve played two live concerts and used it in my home studio.
The REMIC D5400 goes way beyound another Danish mic I have been using for years. Extremly accurate and less ambient noise.
The sound quality is astonishing impressive and accurate.
Workes extremly well with my slapping techniques, which I use a lot.
Thanks for an impresive product.
